Dates announced for Rome Arte in Nuvola, Rome's international modern and contemporary art fair

From November 22-24, 2024, Rome Arte in Nuvola, the international modern and contemporary art fair, now in its fourth edition, returns. The host country will be Portugal.

From November 22-24, 2024, Roma Arte in Nuvola, Rome’s international modern and contemporary art fair conceived and directed by Alessandro Nicosia with the artistic direction of Adriana Polveroni promoted by Eur SpA, returns. After last year’s more than positive response from critics and public (more than 35,000 visitors), the fourth edition of Roma Arte in Nuvola inside the Fuksas Cloud will involve 140 Italian and international galleries. The event aims to expand its boundaries, broadening its innovative and dynamic offer towards new artistic currents. Particular visibility will be given to Central and Southern Italian exhibitors from cities such as Naples, Catania, Pescara, Sorrento, Scicli, Avellino, Nuoro, Modica and San Pantaleo, which consider the fair an event of absolute importance thanks to its proposals. Expected growth in the number of galleries present as well as the participation of exhibitors from abroad, with a focus on new trends and the artists who best represent them.

The host country will be Portugal, which will promote with the Ministry of Culture and the Embassy of Portugal in Italy the State Collection of Contemporary Art with a selection of works curated by Sandra Vieira Jürgens. Roma Arte in Nuvola aims to be an opportunity for collectors, curators and artists to meet in order to foster direct contact with the many evolutions of art. Special meetings, exhibitions, installations and performances will be organized.

Thanks to the ability to work as a system and with its own precise specificity, the fourth edition confirms significant collaborations with public institutions, becoming the latter an active part of the event’s artistic-cultural programming: from the Ministry of Culture, with the special participation of some of its most representative museum and cultural institutions such as the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity and the MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Arts, theCentral Institute for Graphics, the General Directorate for Archives and the Museum of Civilizations, to the Lazio Region and Roma Capitale . Banca Ifis is reconfirmed as the main sponsor.

Among the many projects this year, there will be a tribute dedicated to a pioneer of abstract art recognized between Europe, the United States and Japan: sculptor Pietro Consagra (Mazara del Vallo, 1920 - Milan, 2005). The fair will ideally reconstruct his Roman studio by presenting a series of photographs taken by Claudio Abate. Works will include sculptures such as Matacubi, which invite visitors to interact with the sculptures in a playful and engaging way, highlighting his unique vision of art as a complementary form of expression. There will also be space for the duo Vedovamazzei with an exhibition of new contemporary works, and 70 years after his arrival in the Eternal City, the great Sicilian painter Piero Guccione will also be celebrated with the exhibition La città sognata Opere 1962-1972, a selection of oil on canvas works that will retrace the main expressive phases of his Roman period matured alongside a great master such as Renato Guttuso (Bagheria, 1911 - Rome, 1987).
