From Oct. 25, 2024,Milan’s Idroscalo will host in its first European stage Light Cycles, adigital art experience created by Moment Factory, an international multimedia entertainment studio, in collaboration with Fever, a leading platform in live experiences. An immersive nighttime journey, with evening admission Thursday through Sunday, where five multisensory art installations will guide visitors on a sensory journey. Through lights, projections and music, the path combines art and technology to create connections with nature.
The works are designed to enhance the natural beauty of the Idroscalo, inviting visitors to rediscover and appreciate their surroundings. The immersive experience integrates nature and digital art, with state-of-the-art projection mapping, scenic lighting and specially composed sound effects. Light Cycles’ original soundtrack, created by the Barr Brothers, a Montreal band celebrated for their innovative fusion of folk, rock and blues, adds further depth. Their elaborate melodies and evocative sounds intensify the experience, giving nature a musical voice that enriches the sensory immersion. Each installation tells a unique story along a journey of about 45 minutes, inviting the audience to contemplation and discovery. Its elements engage in a silent but intense dialogue with the surrounding environment.
Crystal Grove
Inspired by studies revealing how trees are able to communicate, the installation allows participants to explore the hidden language of vegetation through twinkling lights and melodic whispers.
Forest Frequencies
An experience that transforms nature into a veritable orchestra. Time seems to suspend as vibrant colors and pulsating sound waves amplify the space, instilling a sense of vital harmony.
(In)visible
The installation takes viewers on a journey that reveals the beauty of unexpected patterns and hidden rhythms in the natural world.
Into The Sunset
An invitation to walk into the sunset, enveloped by endless rays to experience a golden haze in a magical moment of warm colors and enveloping music.
The Hearth
The lights in this installation evoke the warmth of a bonfire, a beating heart that recalls the earth itself, around which viewers can gather for a total immersion of the senses.
"After great success in Australia and New Zealand, and soon to be scheduled in Japan, we are proud to bring this exciting project to Italy, the destination chosen for the exclusive European debut. Since 2014, our Lumina Night Walk format has been creating immersive experiences in the most striking natural environments around the world: unique projects that have inspired our creative team to think deeply about the relationship between humans and nature, which has become the central theme of Light Cycles with the hope of inspiring visitors by inviting them to connect with the world around them in new and meaningful ways," says Jonathan St-Onge, executive director of Moment Factory Originals.
"Fever’s goal is to make culture and entertainment accessible to everyone, and Light Cycles beautifully reflects this mission," says Costanza Sciascia, senior project manager of Fever Originals Italy. “This experience with Moment Factory blends art, nature and technology and allows everyone from families to art enthusiasts to connect with the world around them in an innovative, accessible and memorable environment.”
