Art and Collectibles in Rome: antiques exhibition opens in the capital with galleries from all over Italy and beyond

Opening to the public on Saturday, Sept. 30 in Rome, in the exhibition spaces of Palazzo Brancaccio, is the exhibition of antiques Art and Collectibles in Rome, organized by theAssociazione Antiquari d’Italia under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, ENIT-National Tourism Agency, the Municipality of Rome and the Rome Chamber of Commerce. Also supporting the event are major companies that will intervene as sponsors, such as Eni, Fondazione Lottomatica, Honda, Fideuram, Liberty Special Markets, and Darte. A three-day event, until October 2, in which visitors will be able to admire works of art, ranging from painting to sculpture and decorative arts, presented by forty-six prestigious art galleries from all over Italy and not only, because also from London and New York, which are part of the Associazione Antiquari d’Italia, founded in 1959 with an act that was intended to be supportive of and sharing in the spirit and ideals of the Florence International Antiques Fair.

Among the main artists represented by the works on display are Giovanni Boldini, Giorgio Morandi, Giorgio de Chirico, Giacomo Balla, Camillo Innocenti, Giovanni Lanfranco, Simon Vouet, Bartolomeo Passarotti, Gaetano Gandolfi, Ippolito Caffi, Giò Ponti, and many others.

Arte e Collezionismo a Roma brings the vast world ofItalian and international antiques to Rome and aims to become a permanent fixture and a point of reference for scholars and collectors, offering the Capital an event of high artistic importance.

Tickets are on sale online on the Ticketone platform; the exhibition will be open Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The full ticket price will be 15 euros, the reduced 10 euros-plus presale fees for those sold online-with the ticket office remaining open until 8 p.m. Reductions are provided for children and youths between 6 and 12 years old. Admission will be free and free for people with disabilities and one companion each, Vip Card holders, children aged 0 to 5 and holders of a valid Cerasi Foundation ticket. Free admission also for teachers and students enrolled in the Academies of Fine Arts or corresponding institutions of the European Union. Free admission also for teachers and students of undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate degree programs and doctoral programs of the following faculties: Architecture, Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Education Sciences or Humanities with an archaeological or historical-artistic focus.

Accompanying the exhibition program will be initiatives and side events, such as seminars and workshops on issues related to the art market and relevant regulations, as well as in-depth discussions on the chain of professions and trades. Protagonists of the exhibition will also be the training and participation of students and experts. The faculty of Art History at La Sapienza University of Rome will be involved in the project, giving students the opportunity to experience works that are often unpublished, rare or never seen before, and to take part in the organizational process of an art event.
