On May 27 and 28, the Florentine Civic Museums will host the two concluding events of projects curated by MUS.E, conceived by young people for young people: on the one hand, the Teens Project, conceived as part of PCTOs (Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation) with local schools, and on the other, the Youth and Museums project developed in collaboration with theUniversity of Florence and aimed at 18-30 year olds.
Both projects are curated by the Florentine Civic Museums and MUS.E in collaboration with the University of Florence, the Niccolò Machiavelli State High School in Florence, the Galileo State High School in Florence, the Ernesto Balducci State High School in Pontassieve, and with the support in partnership of Unicoop Florence as part of the Under30 project.
During the school year, the Teens Project was reactivated, involving about 20 secondary school children: the teens were invited and guided to learn about the city’s museums, subsequently going on to define an enhancement project aimed at their peers. In addition, the Youth and Museums group, college students and noncollege students united by age (18 to 30) and passion for culture, was reborn in recent months. Both groups have been working with the intention of defining forms of experiences that meet the interests and needs of millennials, offering their respective peers a new cultural experience modeled on participation, pleasure and fun, in which, however, the history and art of Florence remain protagonists.
The first event is scheduled for Saturday, May 27, at the Santa Maria Novella Complex and is entitled MUS.Egram. Focus on the Lens. It is a photography contest that will take place throughout the day and is aimed at young people aged 18 to 30 who want to have fun and get involved. Three paths of discovery, among unpublished atmospheres on the hunt for details and details, to be able to capture the beauty of the spaces and artistic treasures kept in Santa Maria Novella with a personal and creative touch. The best shots will receive a pleasant surprise as a prize.
The second event is scheduled for Sunday, May 28, at the Stefano Bardini Museum: the protagonists will be teenagers with MUS.ESCAPE. The Secret of Blue. A team game in which they will challenge time between puzzles and tests, to discover the wonders of the museum collections and compete for victory and the prize. The event is for young people aged 14 to 18, organized into teams of three to six participants.
Both projects are organized by the Florentine Civic Museums and MUS.E in collaboration with the University of Florence, the Liceo Statale Niccolò Machiavelli of Florence, the Liceo Classico Statale Galileo of Florence, the Istituto Statale Superiore Ernesto Balducci of Pontassieve and with the support in partnership of Unicoop Florence.
