On Sunday, April 29, a sort of Beijing Express will be held in the heart of Tuscany, and to be exact in the lands of Leonardo, but it will take place over a single day and, above all, it will bring the participants of the singular challenge to the museums of the territory: this bizarre competition is called Caccia ai musei (Museum Hunt ) and is organized by the Museo Diffuso Empolese Valdelsa (MuDEV) in collaboration with PromoCultura. The goal, reads a note, is to “introduce citizens and tourists to their territory, heritage and community through play.” The race (non-competitive, but with a final prize for the winner), is structured on a clue course, is designed for adults but also open to families, and will take participants to discover the historical-artistic, landscape and food and wine excellences of the Empolese-Valdelsa area.
The race takes place on different routes, but homogeneous in difficulty and timing, to be covered by car or motorcycle, for a total of fifty kilometers. Participants will find clues in the museums, villages, parishes, wineries and vineyards of the area, and will be linked to the art, history and folk traditions of these lands. Solving a question or game will provide access to the next stage. The rendezvous is set for 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Museum of Ceramics in Montelupo Fiorentino, from where the race will start, with the first clue. The final finish line, on the other hand, is in Fucecchio, where the race will arrive in the late afternoon: the final standings will then be drawn up and the winners will be awarded, who will receive a basket filled with typical local products. Giveaways will also be provided for all other participants.
