“I have been faithful since childhood to this word,” Quartana explained. “An only child I played alone, I slept alone I thought alone and in growing up I loved hated this loneliness of mine, until the moment when I saw, in the two syllables that make up solo, so/lo and lo/so and this vision of coincidence gave me consciousness of my la vita. Like everyone I am alone and I know it and to know it is as already to say it and to say it is the relationship with the other. At that very moment I realized that we people are all unique but we are unique together. We have this consciousness of being unique that makes us aware of the uniqueness of the other person and other people. We stand suspended between two conditions: unity and distinction. A species that needs to hold opposites together so it develops the ability to see things together; thèa (sight) horào, (I see): theory. Seeing our seeing.”
