The new video clip of singer Diodato (Antonio Diodato; Aosta, 1981) brings to the screens of his fans an interesting combination of music and contemporary art, much appreciated by lovers of both art forms. In fact, for the video of the new single Fino a farci scomparire, released on platforms last Dec. 21, Diodato chose as the setting the Back to nature exhibition, held at the Villa Borghese Park in Rome from Sept. 15 to Dec. 13, 2020, curated by Costantino D’Orazio. In particular, for a good part of the video, Diodato is seen dancing in front of and inside Etherea, an installation by Edoardo Tresoldi (Milan, 1987) that dialogues with the trees of the Daini Park. It is a large, transparent and inhabitable sculpture, made with the metal wire typical of the Lombard artist’s poetics, which moreover represents Tresoldi’s first public installation in Rome.
“I had the privilege of being able to interact with the work of one of the artists I love most, Edoardo Tresoldi,” Diodato said. "His Etherea made me think of that temple that lovers build in their life together and which, when a story ends, slowly dissolves, lightening the weight of expectations, future projections, our fears and uncertainties. In that moment, it is possible to see again the initial, ambitious, beautiful, suspended stretch. A silent Rome brought me in front of this wonder that was kept among the trees of Villa Borghese, in which I saw a kind of Kubrickian monolith capable of bending time, a point of conjunction between past, present and future that ignited in me a cathartic and liberating dance."
Fino a farci scomparire is contained in the album Che vita meravigliosa (Carosello Records), which has already been recognized as a gold record: the record also includes the song Fai rumore with which Diodato won the 2020 Sanremo Festival. The video, produced by Borotalco tv in collaboration with Pulse films, is directed by Laszlo Molnar and Giacomo Citro.
