There are 11 funding winners of Italian Council Edition 10, the international call for proposals promoted by the Ministry of Culture’s General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity to support Italian contemporary creativity, strongly committed to the promotion of Italian art and artistic, critical and curatorial research abroad.

Italian Council 10 finances an acquisition of a work produced in the last 50 years and the production of 10 new works all to be destined for Italian public collections after touring major contemporary art institutions around the world for promotional activities.

Haifa Museum of Art (Haifa, Israel), for the project Broken Words by Adrian Paci, destined for the Centro d’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato; Ruber.Contemporary (Palermo, Italy) with Universidad de Malaga, Facultad de Bellas Artes de Malaga (Malaga, Spain), for the project Foreign Bodies by Cesare Viel, destined for the Museo Riso in Palermo; Castello di Rivoli - Museo d’Arte Contemporanea (Rivoli, TO) with Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul Kultur Sanat Vakfi (Istanbul, Turkey), for the project Posidonia - Concertino per il mare (Little Concert for the Sea) by Renato Leotta, destined for the Castello di Rivoli; Almanac Inn (Turin, Italy) with Almanac Projects (London, UK), for the project Your Storm / Our Dew (working title) by Cleo Fariselli, destined for MAMbo in Bologna; The Vera List Center for Art and Politics at The New School (New York, USA), for TheMaze - School of Pandemics / the Labyrinth - School on Pandemics (The Maze) project by Adelita Husni Bey, destined for Castello di Rivoli; Studio Rizoma (Palermo) with European Alternatives (Berlin, Germany), for the project Gli ultimi pescatori/ The Last Fishermen by Francesco Bellina, intended for the Memoria Viva Urban Ecomuseum in Palermo; Zënza Sëida APS (Biennale Gherdëina - Ortisei, BZ) with TAXISPALAIS Kunsthalle Tirol (Innsbruck, Austria), for the project Sentiero by Alex Cecchetti, intended for the Museion in Bolzano; Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea (Cinisello Balsamo, MI) with Galerie le Château d’Eau - Pôle photographique Toulouse (Toulouse, France), for the project West by Francesco Jodice, destined for the Cinisello Balsamo Museum of Contemporary Photography; Il Gaviale (Centrale Fies - Dro, TN) with Festspillene i Nord-Norge (Harstad, Norway) and Bunker (Ljubljana, Slovenia), for the project The Mountain of Advanced Dreams by the Mali Weil collective, destined for MADRE in Naples; Museo civico di Castelbuono (Castelbuono, PA) with Southbank Centre (London, UK), for Beatrice Gibson ’s project Alkestis , destined for the Museo civico di Castelbuono: Architecture Museum La Loge (Brussels, Belgium), for the project Decolonizing Entity - Borgo (Rizza) by the duo DAAR - Decolonizing Architecture Art Research, intended for MADRE in Naples.

The Italian Council Evaluation Committee for the three-year period 2019-2021 is chaired by Fabio De Chirico, Director of the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity, and is composed of Bartomeu Marí Ribas, critic and curator; Andrea Lissoni, critic, curator and artistic director of the Haus der Kunst in Munich; Claudio Varagnoli, architect and lecturer at the University of Chieti, chairman of the Technical and Scientific Committee for Contemporary Art and Architecture; and Angela Vettese, art historian, critic and lecturer at IUAV in Venice.
