Flashback opens new venue surrounded by greenery for its 10th edition

For its tenth edition to be held Nov. 3-6, 2022, Flashback Art Fair is opening a major new cultural hub in Turin's Borgo Crimea neighborhood.

Flashback Art Fair reaches its tenth edition, to be held Nov. 3-6, 2022, and inaugurates Flashback Habitat, a major new space for contemporary cultures in Turin’s Borgo Crimea neighborhood. A major cultural hub in a venue created by an agreement that the Flashback Association entered into with the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group in agreement with the City of Turin in order to revive a disused city real estate hub. In the meantime, the Flashback Association launched in May the new edition of Opera Viva Barriera di Milano, the Manifesto, the urban art project conceived by Alessandro Bulgini, which this year features Jón Gnarr, an established artist and former mayor of Reykjavík, as curator. This exhibition format has brought more than forty international artists to Turin in recent years. For the 2022 edition, Gnarr has combined his work with that of six artists from Iceland’s contemporary scene to create a choral work.

Flashback Habitat, Ecosystem for Contemporary Cultures is the project that gives its name to the new venue for the Flashback Association’s activities. Under the artistic direction of Alessandro Bulgini, the project concretizes the already developed intent of bringing art into the everyday. The creation of Habitat then triggers a process of urban renewal in Borgo Crimea that aims to regenerate more than 20,000 square meters of currently disused space given in concession to the Association and immersed in a large green area.
