Then the doors of the Casino dell’Aurora will be opened to see Caravaggio’s only mural painting, a surprising and little-known work. In the church of San Luigi dei Francesi Alberto Angela will meet a special guest, three-time Oscar-winning cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, who will talk about the influence the Vocation of St. Matthew has had on the way light is conceived in cinema. The church of Santa Maria del Popolo, and then Naples, Malta, Sicily: stages that a Caravaggio always on the run will pass through before landing in Palo Laziale and disappearing into thin air in Maremma.
