Kicking off on Monday, Sept. 26 at 9:15 p.m. exclusively on Sky Arte is the new season of the docu-series Le Fotografe, entirely dedicated to Italian female photographers who narrate the contemporary world. The series, conceived, written and directed by Francesco G. Raganato is a Sky Original production and aims to tell the point of view of six female photograph ers and their personal research. Each episode will feature a female photographer and each appointment will focus on a specific theme: spirituality, motherhood, memory, self-discovery. Gender, adolescence and community of belonging will also be discussed.

On Sept. 26 at 9:15 p.m., we will start with Nausicaa Giulia Bianchi - L’INVISIBILE: the spiritual side of femininity will be told, a research on Catholic women who want to become priests. It will continue on the same evening, at 9:50 p.m., with the photo-documentarian Chiara Fossati - COME TE, a member of the CESURA collective, who will tell about two deeply connected themes through two of her photographic projects: Whatever is the story in images of the rave parties of the late 1990s, Comete instead tells about adolescence in the boundless Italian province. A journey to discover the unknown generation, GEN Z.

In the third episode, Sofia Uslenghi - RITORNO A CASA (Oct. 3, 9:15 p.m.) tackles, through self-portraiture, memory and self-realization. Her narrative will focus on themes of disorientation, the loss of places of belonging. With Sofia, a young woman who had to leave her homeland to realize herself elsewhere, we will discover an unusual Calabria, part of her sentimental geography. On Oct. 10 at 9:15 p.m. it will be the turn of Giulia Gatti - CORAZONADA, a very young winner of the Pesaresi Prize, who has as the center of her research the concept of Mother, understood as an anthropological category, untied from the social concept of motherhood. The episode recounts her journey-between magical realism and journey of formation-in central Mexico, in search of intense and unforgettable women. Ludovica Anzaldi - CORPI LIBERI (Oct. 17, 9:15 p.m.) will instead tell of a Rome inhabited by young mothers fighting for a better future, feminist groups and minorities. Hers is the gaze of a young woman who has just become a mother, for whom photography and social engagement are reasons to live, and women’s bodies are a revolutionary political tool. Closing the series is Cristina Vatielli - IN MEMORY OF ME (Oct. 24, 9:15 p.m.), who uses staged photography to tell the stories of strong women from the past, whose stories reverberate in the contemporary world: from the lives of Picasso’s female companions, to the story of the first lesbian couple to be united in church marriage at the turn of the century.

Streaming only on NOW and also available on demand.
