Sky Arte is responding to the appeal of Minister Dario Franceschini, who had asked TV stations to offer more culture to the public during the weeks ahead, for which the closure of all cultural venues has already been decreed, and is doing so by making some of its programs available for free, via streaming. Through the #CulturaContinua initiative, the broadcaster has therefore decided to make part of its programming available to everyone, which will be accessible through a dedicated platform on Sky’s website.
The free offer concerns three series: Curtain! Stories of Theater, Indie Jungle, and Museums, which will remain viewable for one week after airing. Curtain! Stories of Theater, airing every Wednesday at 8:40 p.m., gives space to the Italian and international performance scene, bringing even a non-specialized audience closer to the dynamics of the stage: topics such as the body and the voice, workshop and rehearsal, traditional crafts, the repertoire of classical texts, new dramaturgy, and theatrical work in contexts of marginality are addressed: these topics will also be told through interventions by the likes of Toni Servillo, Lella Costa, Lino Guanciale, Renato Palazzi, and Andrée Ruth Shammah.
Music also takes center stage with the series Indie Jungle, airing every Saturday at 8:30 p.m., which turns the spotlight on the stories of bands and artists, both emerging and not, united by their belonging to the Italian independent scene. Frah Quintale, Fulminacci and Calibro 35 are just some of the voices that animate the performances broadcast by Sky Arte and available for all. Finally, also free for all is theseries Musei(more information on the series here), broadcast every Thursday at 9:15 p.m.: a journey to discover Italy’s most important museum venues, accompanied by Lella Costa’s narration voice.
