On Sky the TV series dedicated to the Museums of Italy, from the Uffizi to the Reggia di Caserta

The "Museums" series launches Thursday, Oct. 29, on Sky Arte: eight episodes devoted to eight major Italian museums, with interviews and behind-the-scenes features.

Starting tomorrow, Oct. 29 at 9:15 p.m., on Sky Arte (channels 120 and 400) is the second season of the series Musei, about Italy’s most important national museums. There are eight episodes this season, dedicated to as many institutions: the Uffizi Gallery, the Ducal Palace in Urbino, Palazzo Grimani and Ca’ d’Oro in Venice, the Ducal Palace in Mantua, the National Archaeological Museum in Reggio Calabria, the Reggia di Capodimonte, Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens, and the Reggia di Caserta. The series features the narrative voice of Lella Costa, is also available in 4K, and shows the commitment of all the staff of museum institutions not only in protecting and preserving art, but also in addressing an increasingly aware and demanding public.

The new eight-part series tells what lies behind the façade of these great machines, what challenges they face on a daily basis, the secret players, visions, and professions that allow artworks to reach an increasingly large and demanding audience. Through interviews with directors and curators, Musei intends to bring out the living and dynamic character of a world that does not just put itself on display, but continually relates to local realities to tell the world about itself, modernizing and implementing ever-changing choices of promotion and enhancement: starting with the approaches of the directors, who starting from a personal vision lead museums into the future.

Musei is a Sky Original production made by 3D Productions for Sky Arte, directed by Giovanni Piscaglia. The museums were selected in collaboration with the General Directorate of Museums - Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism. The series will air every Thursday starting Oct. 29 at 9:15 p.m. (except Nov. 26: the series will end on Dec. 24) and is also available on Sky On Demand, Sky Go, and streaming on Now TV.
