A new children's friend arrives on Rai Yoyo: it's Odo, a little owl with insomnia problems, from the illustrations of Ukrainian artist Alena Tkach. The series aims to educate children about coping and problem-solving and self-confidence.

A new cartoon is coming to RaiPlay and Rai Yoyo . The children’s new friend is the little owl Odo and is a creation of Ukrainian artist Alena Tkach, which takes shape from a 2016 book by U.S.-based Oliver Austria, with illustrations by Tkach. The new animated series will be offered from Friday, July 21, premiering on RaiPlay. From Wednesday, July 26, Odo will also be aired daily at 9:50 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. on Rai Yoyo.

Odo is a little owl who promises to be very different from the other nocturnal birds of his species: he, in fact, cannot sleep during the day. His parents, in order to keep him occupied while they sleep, have enrolled him in the Young Feathered Camp, where Odo spends his days together with tiny Dudi, his great friend, and other birds much older than himself. Odo is determined to prove that, although small, he is as capable as others of contributing to the camp activities, and in each episode he will resourcefully face obstacles and difficulties without ever becoming discouraged. Each episode wins attention through fun and tender adventures, thanks to the illustrations inspired by illustrator Alena Tkach’s illustrations.

Without giving didactic prescriptions, Odo aims to touch the hearts of young children and tells them stories that reflect real-life situations, from intolerance to racism and adoption, from birth to death, from emigration to respect for others and the planet. The series aims to educate children about coping and problem-solving and self-confidence, counteracting the spread of states of anxiety and depression among even the youngest children. Appointment then on Rai Yoyo with the new adventures of Odo.
