The second season of the TV series Leonardo, which has aroused mixed opinions among critics but has been rewarded by great success with the public, will be there: one of the producers(Sony Pictures Television, headed by Wayne Garvie) already let it be known at a press conference that a continuation of the series is being studied, opening up the possibility of seeing Leonardo’s adventures on the small screen again with new episodes later on. Confirmation then came from Luca Bernabei, CEO of another of the producing companies(Lux Vide), who, interviewed by RTL 102.5, said that Leonardo will have a second season. Bernabei also provided some plot anticipations: we will thus see Leonardo at the time of his stay in Rome, still struggling with his studies, and competing with other artists of the time, such as Raffaello Sanzio and Michelangelo Buonarroti.
Bernabei has also let it be known that there is also the idea of making a later series dedicated precisely to Michelangelo, and in particular about the period when the artist made the Last Judgment in the Sistine Chapel, although at the moment there is nothing established. Returning instead to Leonardo, there will again be the Irishman Aidan Turner as the artist from Vinci, while it is not known whether the second season will see the involvement of Matilda De Angelis, who played the fictional character of Caterina da Cremona in the first season. Nothing else, however, is known about possible other involvements: it is likely that, since the character of Michelangelo, played by Pierpaolo Spollon, was introduced in the season finale, the latter will also be confirmed for the second season. Just as it is highly likely that Freddie Highmore will not be confirmed, since his character’s story arc has closed.
Leonardo drama, there will be a second season. And maybe even a series on Michelangelo |
