ITsART appoints new CEO: he is Andrea Castellari

The Board of Directors of ITsART S.p.A. has appointed Andrea Castellari as the new CEO of the company, which runs the so-called “Netflix of culture,” or the streaming platform of Italian art and culture promoted by the Ministry of Culture. The appointment comes more than a month after the resignation of Guido Casali, who had left ITsART after only three months.

Andrea Castellari, a manager with a background in political science (he studied at the State University of Milan from 1990 to 1995) and in business administration and management, with a long career in the world of entertainment and digital media, arrives at ITsART after gaining substantial experience in the sector, having held important positions in some of the major international companies for more than 20 years. In particular, he was EVP and CEO Italy, Middle East and Turkey of ViacomCBS, SVP South Europe of Discovery and Vice President and Commercial Director of Turner, a Time Warner group company. Previously, Castellari worked for a decade in the print media world, in groups such as Mondadori and Hachette Rusconi.

“The choice of the new director,” the company says, “is part of the path of dissemination and enhancement of the Italian artistic and cultural heritage in the world and will be able to allow to pursue the strengthening of ITsART’s growth internationally with the acquisition of new partnerships and the opening of new markets.” Castellari’s task will not be easy, however: it will involve launching a platform that started very quietly compared to expectations.
