Starting Monday, Sept. 18 at 10:40 p.m., premiering on Rai Storia, is Officina patrimonio, a new program designed to bring young people closer to Italy’s cultural heritage, produced by Rai Cultura and the Ministry of Culture’s Directorate General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes.
Inside museums, archives, libraries, archaeological areas, superintendencies and historical palaces of the Italian regions, the State Educational Services involve the youngest through workshops, experiences and narrations. A dynamic workshop intended to foster participation and inclusion, lead to the development of new knowledge and skills, and help recognize cultural heritage as a common heritage.
Four appointments dedicated respectively to memory, discovery, adventure and encounter in which tomorrow’s citizens will be seen engaged in interpreting, exploring, reconstructing traces of the past, making current the value of traditions and considering cultural dialogue as a fundamental basis for civil coexistence and the growth of territories.
The first installment of Heritage Workshop - Memory, will stop in Rome at the National Roman Museum, Celano at the Piccolomini Castle, Prato at the State Archives in Palazzo Datini and Turin at the Royal Palace. In this installment, the concept of memory will cross time. From the memory of the ancients that emerges from Latin epigraphs, to the memory of a landscape that no longer exists such as that of Lake Fucino. It will then turn to archival documents to show what the writing of medieval merchants looked like. And finally we will talk about the memory of rights, individual and collective, political and civil, laboriously won and evoked in a journey that starts from monarchical absolutism, passes through the Statuto albertino and arrives at the Italian Constitution.
The program will be repeated on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 8:15 a.m. and Friday, Sept. 22 at 4:45 p.m. on Rai Storia.
