From Chiusi to the Island of Monte Cristo: Art Rider this evening on the trail of the Etruscans

Tonight on Rai5 will air starting at 9:15 p.m. a new episode of Art Rider, an original format by Gioia Avvantaggiato and Paolo Fazzini, produced by GA&A Productions, in collaboration with Rai Cultura.

In his second appointment of the new season, archaeologist Andrea Angelucci will go on the trail of the Greeks and the Etruscans: starting from Chiusi, he will set out on the trail of the Etruscans, a very ancient Italic people, among the most refined and powerful civilizations of antiquity. The Greeks, their enemies, described them as cruel pirates, superstitious devotees of divinatory arts and inveterate libertines, given to the most immoderate pleasures. Among the oldest legendary treasures to be found in Italy is that of the Etruscan king Porsenna, the Lucumon who in the fifth century B.C. also managed to conquer Rome.

Andrea Angelucci will then depart Chiusi by setting out on his trail and arriving where writer Alexandre Dumas tells of another treasure, that of Montecristo. A journey between Greeks and Etruscans, from one of Italy’s most legendary treasures, that of Porsenna, to theisland of Montecristo.
