Coming March 9 on Netflix is The Andy Warhol Diaries, a docuseries produced by Ryan Murphy that chronicles in six episodes the life of Andy Warhol through stories from some of the famous artist’s diaries. In 1989, in fact, The Andy Warhol Diaries were published posthumously by his secretary Pat Hackett. A collection of accounts and thoughts that restore anintimate and personal image of Andy. It is an Andy Warhol who goes beyond his most iconic works, from Brillo detergent cans to Campbell’s soups, from portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Liz Taylor to Coca Cola bottles. With the use ofArtificial Intelligence, it will be Warhol’s own voice that will narrate firsthand moments of his life.

The docuseries directed by Andrew Rossi will start from his childhood in Pittsburgh to the artist Andy Warhol, referencing aspects such as the glories of the Factory, his relationship with Basquiat, evenings at Studio 54, friendships with New York’s most influential figures and stars, and the 1968 assassination attempt by writer, actress and activist Valerie Solanas. After being wounded in 1968, Andy Warhol began to chronicle his life and his feelings. Those diaries and this series reveal the secrets of his character.

Stock footage will also be accompanied by interviews with the artist’s friends, collaborators and admirers.
