Art Rider returns on Rai5: traveling the Marche region, from Ascoli Piceno to Ancona

From Friday, June 18, 2021, Art Rider returns, with its second season: the program hosted by the young and dynamic archaeologist, as well as tour guide and travel designer, Andrea Angelucci, who leads viewers in search of Italy’s lesser-known art places.

In the first episode, which will be aired in RAI premiere at 9:15 p.m. on Rai5, titled Da Ascoli Piceno ad Ancona, we will travel through the Marche region, following the ancient salt route and arriving on the opposite coast, stopping in Ascoli and finally in Ancona.

In Andrea’s notebook is a detail of Trajan’s column in Rome where the arch and port that the emperor built in Ancona can be seen. Seized by curiosity, the explorer wants to see how art and landscape have changed over the course of two thousand years: in Ascoli, a splendid town full of artistic wonders, Andrea is particularly fascinated by a painting by Crivelli, a capable and innovative painter, although, in his opinion, he does not enjoy the fame he deserves. He will then begin a journey to rediscover the artist and other unexpected wonders, until he arrives at his destination: the city of Ancona.
