First installment of our column devoted to TV programs of 2021. Here is how we will start the year.
On Rai 5 the programming of Under Italy continues Monday through Friday at 8:15 p.m., the documentary exploring the undergrounds of Italy. This week’s episodes will cover Lake Fucino, the undergrounds of Trieste, Orvieto, Bologna and Palermo. On Friday, January 8 at 8:59 p.m., an episode of Art Night will be broadcast entirely dedicated to the two most important museums in Paris, namely the Louvre and the Musée D’Orsay.
On Rai Storia episodes 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of #Maestri return Monday through Friday at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 5 at 10:30 a.m. is the second part of the documentary Leonardo da Vinci - the Last Portrait (replayed Thursday, January 7 at 6:30 p.m.).
Many films will be shown on Sky Arte from Monday to Friday: Monday, 4, at 8 a.m., there will be Caravaggio the Soul and the Blood; Tuesday, 5, at 8 a.m., it will be the turn of The Young Picasso, while at 4 p.m. we will see Hermitage - The Power of Art; Wednesday, 6, at 7 a.m., we will see two films dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci namely Leonardo - The Rediscovered Portrait and I, Leonardo, while at 12 noon.40 there will be St. Peter’s and the Papal Basilicas of Rome 3D; on Thursday, 7, at 8, Van Gogh: Between the Grain and the Sky will be broadcast; on Friday, 8, starting at 7:20, there will be Monet’s Water Lilies - A Spell of Water and Light and Degas - Passion and Perfection, while at 4 p.m. there will be Basquiat - A Rebel in New York. There will also be premieres during the week: on Monday, 5, at 9:15 p.m. there will be Gauguin; on Tuesday, 6, at 9:15 p.m. there will be Escher - Journey into Infinity; and on Thursday, 7, at 9:15 p.m. there will be Andy Warhol - A Portrait.
We highlight for Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 9:10 p.m. on Iris the film Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen in which a nostalgic writer on vacation in the capital of France is catapulted every night to the beginning of the 20th century where he will also meet painters such as Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali.
