Art on TV Aug. 3-9: Van Gogh, Renaissance, Vatican Museums 3D

Here we are again with our column on TV programs devoted to the arts. Let’s find out what we will see between August 3 and 9.

On Rai 5, Wednesday, Aug. 5, Thursday, Aug. 6 and Friday, Aug. 7 at 7:20 p.m., will air new episodes of Art Passion and Power, a documentary in which art historian Andrew Graham-Dixon explores the history of the Royal Collection, one of the world’s largest and most important art collections. On Friday, 7, an episode of Art Night dedicated to photographer Alessandro Dobici will air at 9:10 p.m.

On Rai Storia, the eighth part of È l’Italia, bellezza! will be broadcast on Monday, Aug. 3 at 9:10 p.m. (repeats Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 9:30 a.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 6:30 a.m.).

On Sky Arte, reruns of Art Investigation and Renaissance - Lights and Shadows will be broadcast every morning Monday through Friday starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, Vatican Museums 3D returns at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 4:45 p.m. will air Vincent Van Gogh - A New Way of Seeing, David Bickerstaff ’s documentary devoted to the painter of The Sunflowers and Vincent’s Room at Arles. On Thursday 6 and Friday 7, reruns of Brunelleschi and the World’s Great Domes will be broadcast starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday 6 at 8:45 p.m. will air Masterpieces Unveiled with Greta Scacchi, followed by Art in the USA, a program devoted to art in the United States. On Friday 7 at 8 p.m., a new episode of Luce Social Club, the format that explores the world of culture between art, film and music, will be broadcast.
