Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 ContemporaneA. Words and Women’s Stories offers a true online literary marathon from 5 to 9:30 pm. More than twenty guests will speak via live streaming to give a reading recommendation, but most importantly to gift the audience with a word. The writers and artists involved, including Giulia Blasi, Vera Gheno, Ginevra di Marco, Cristina Donà, Camilla Filippi, Barbara Frandino, Marilù Oliva and Elena Varvello will dedicate their intervention to certain terms, such as sharing, compassion, reflection, silence. ContemporaneA intends to make the audience reflect on the true meaning of words related to Christmas (and beyond).
There will be no shortage of encounters to delve into their work with female writers: during the literary marathon, review curators Irene Finiguerra and Barbara Masoni will dialogue with Giulia Blasi, Donatella Di Pietrantonio, Valentina Maini, Daniela Raimondi, Valeria Palumbo, Simonetta Agnello Hornby, Beatrice Masini, Alessia Gazzola, Elena Marinelli, Letizia Pezzali, Sabrina Pisu, and Tiziana Ferrario.
Throughout the month of December, there will be a reading recommendation every day, both from authors such as Marta Barone, Silvia Avallone, Giulia Perona and Giulia Cuter (Senza rossetto), Daniela Raimondi, and from insiders such as Ornella Tarantola, whose The Italian Bookshop has become a landmark in London, and Elisa Giovannacci of the historic Biella bookstore, with proposals for young adults and children.
A special space will also be dedicated to poetry, thanks to Mariangela Gualtieri, who has selected for the occasion three of her poems to be read aloud, with audio only.
On ContemporaneA ’s social channels , a sort of book Advent calendar will then be created, until Christmas Eve. This date is intended to be ContemporaneA ’s gift of a few hours spent together in the company of women writers and their stories.
The project ContemporaneA. Words and Stories of Women was born within the Biella association BI-BOx from an idea of Irene Finiguerra and Barbara Masoni, in collaboration with the Giovannacci bookstore and with the contribution of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Biella and Intesa Sanpaolo. Illustration and graphic design is by Chiara Fucà.
