Vincent Van Gogh ’s Starry Night will soon be made with Lego bricks: the Lego Ideas blog has in fact approved and confirmed the project by Truman Cheng aka legotruman. It was voted by 10 thousand supporting users, so the Starry Night in Lego version will soon go into production.
The set reinterprets the famous original 1889 painting preserved at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in a 3D version, trying to give prominence to the artist’s brushstrokes and the nuances of color that the Dutch painter rendered extraordinarily on the canvas.
Lego bricks reproduce precisely all the details of the famous masterpiece: the swirling cloud, the stars, the moon, the cypress tree, the village, the entire landscape. Part of the scene even comes out of the “picture” to give more depth.
The set includes 1552 pieces, and in addition to the Starry Night, a van Gogh minifigure is also included, with an easel, palette, paintbrush and mini painting reproducing the painting.
