Street artists from around the world united by the nonprofit Yourban2030 are launching the Color4action campaign in support of the Covid-19 health emergency. The goal is to raise funds to be donated not only to medical facilities, but also to all nonprofits committed to addressing post-Covid emergencies in support of the most vulnerable segments of the population. More than forty artists are involved, from Italy to the United States, Peru to Australia, China to England, Brazil to India: Ahoy, Amlrumdame, Anahu, Andrea Wan, Athalia Lewartowski, Carlos Atoche, Damien Mitchell, Danielle Mastrion, Diamond, Dulk, Ellena Lourens, Fabio Petani, Gio Ro Mo, Gomez, Heberth Sobral, Hugo Salazar Chuquimango, Idro51, Iena Cruz, Ironmould, Jason Naylor, Jorghe, Keya Tama, Krayon, Louis Masai, Maupal, Max Papeschi, Memi Guilherme, Messy Desk, Mosa, Mrkas, Nielesh, Quinho, Okuda, Omer, Ozmo, Pantonio, Saicus, Solo, Tal Shetach, Violetta Carpino, Waone.
The project is supported by Dorothy Circus Gallery, an institution in the world of contemporary pop/surrealist art, committed to the enhancement and promotion of street art.
Color4action is the first mobilization on an international scale that brings street art into homes: forty drawings by great artists to color. The black and white works can be downloaded from www.yourban2030.org and, once colored, you can send them to send@yourban2030.org. Artists will select the images to become part of the world’s first street art Colouring Book. You can make a free donation to one of the establishments on the list.
“At a time in history when we are called to stay at home to stem the spread of the virus,” said Yourban2030 President Veronica De Angelis, “we reflected on the therapeutic power of color and wanted to give away a simple tool that would help people get away from everyday tensions, guide the mind through imaginative universes and encourage moments of reflection, meditation and connection with our deepest selves. The issue of health and access to care for all is a priority at this time and requires a strong collective commitment, because making community and creating pathways of solidarity is the only way we can contribute to this global health emergency.”
“Covid-19 has profoundly affected everyone’s lives and we are facing an unprecedented emergency for which we were totally unprepared,” added Alexandra Mazzanti, director and curator of the Dorothy Circus Gallery. "This situation led me to a long reflection about what I could do to help: when Veronica and the Yourban2030 team came to me to propose a partnership in the Color4Action campaign, I felt I finally had a chance to do something concrete to help those who need it most. Hospitals and NGOs that receive donations will be able to deal with the emergency in the best way possible, and the people who decide to participate will benefit spiritually from their help, as well as being able to create wonderful works of art together with their favorite street artists. I firmly believe that this is what was needed: art and kindness will save the world."
