Antrodoco, in the province of Rieti, will become an open-air urban art gallery, thanks to the works of internationally renowned street artists. The municipality of Antrodoco was the winner over the province of Rieti in the Lazio Street Art call, which the Lazio Region implemented in order to enhance and upgrade the places and assets of Lazio municipalities. From the beginning of March, street artists will give life to their works and on Saturday, March 20, 2021, R/ESISTENCE - Street Art Gallery, a cultural project under the artistic direction of Marco Paciotti and Alin Cristofori, will be inaugurated.

Involved are prominent names on the international street art scene: STEN&LEX, considered among the heirs of Banksy and pioneers of the stencil poster; LUCAMALEONTE who signs his works with the stencil technique and an unmistakable style; neo-muralism of the author makes space with NEVE and ALESSANDRA CARLONI, an established painter and street artist.

Four places in the municipality will be protagonists in the urban gallery to be created: an “open-air gallery” that will make Antrodoco an urban space dedicated to art, a generator of social change in which the participatory artistic experience will activate virtuous processes of regeneration of the territory, and whose graphic design will be curated by WARIOS ONE part of the international group Calligraffiti Ambassadors, a collective created by SHOE that combines calligraphy and graffiti in a unique art form.

The goal of R/ESISTENCE is to enhance the cultural identity of the place, followed by the involvement of the citizenry and the promotion of a culture accessible to all. This will be the first edition of an intervention that intends to have an annual cadence, so that the entire municipality becomes a gallery in constant evolution, enriched each year by new works signed by great authors, creating a new international street art hub.

The initiative is a confirmation of the fruitful collaboration between the Municipality of Antrodoco and the Ondadurto Teatro art project, which, for years now, has been promoting a series of initiatives to enhance the cultural offer, with countless wide-ranging performative interventions involving the material and immaterial heritage of the territory. This is yet another addition to the area’s regeneration efforts, undertaken by the present municipal administration with the aim of making the municipality one of the most vibrant centers in the province of Rieti.
