In Milan’s Corvetto district, on Piazza Angilberto II, a large mural dedicated to Piet Mondrian has been created by Dutch street artist Zedz. The mural, entitled The Tradition, was entrusted to the artist by MUDEC- Museo delle Culture and inaugurates a fixed annual appointment, in which the museum venue will be one of the main protagonists for the enhancement of urban art in the Lombard capital. Zedz’s work is the first in a series of MUDEC-related murals that will enhance Milan and its neighborhoods in the coming years.

The wall work closes the Mondrian Palimpsest, which MUDEC, 24 ORE Cultura and the Netherlands Consulate in Milan created on the occasion of the exhibition Piet Mondrian - From Figuration to Abstraction, which closed on March 27, 2022.

Made with the support of Unipol, the mural was chosen for the artistic finalization of the newly regenerated Corvetto neighborhood. In fact, the final transformation of the square was completed this year; previously it was unfatti a simple intersection and now has new green areas and renewed street furniture, with sidewalks with seating, plants and bicycle racks.
