Milan, Ozmo creates a Carpaccio-inspired St. George and the dragon in San Siro area

Street artist Ozmo has created inside the Snai La Maura Hippodrome in Milan a new site-specific work inspired by Vittore Carpaccio's Saint George and the Dragon.

A new site-specific work by street artist Ozmo was inaugurated inside theSnai La Maura Hippodrome on the occasion of the I-Days 2023 summer music festival. Titled Dr. Avallo, the project inspired by Vittore Carpaccio’s St. George and the Dragon, created for Live Nation with the artistic direction of Patù | Art+Adv, was created with the aim of opening new frontiers of dialogue between music and art and is an expression of the artist’s philosophy and ironic touch.

“This work can also be read through the interpretative lens of Carl Gustav Jung: the dragon represents the unconscious and the headless figure of the long-haired horseman suggests a female subject who instead of killing it, attempts to tame it,” Ozmo explained. “The result is an intervention that is not just a painting, but an open dialogue with the viewer, the context and the event that hosts it. Dr.Avallo does not just decorate a space, he transforms it and makes it unique by inviting the viewer to look for hidden meanings,” added the street artist.
