WePresent, part of the WeTranfer platform that we all use now to send images and documents quickly and easily, is a special platform that was created to share art, photography, music, and more from all over the world. It is an editorial space where everything creative that appears in the world is told, also involving numerous artists and telling their stories.
WePresent recently started a special collaboration with one of the world’s most famous contemporary artists, Marina Abramović. The latter took on the role on this occasion of guest curator and selected five emerging artists in the field of performance: Ana Prvacki, Maurício Ianês, Yiannis Pappas, Terence Koh and Regina José Galindo. All five are demonstrating how performance art is a constantly evolving art form that is always moving in different directions.
Presenting them as curator is Marina Abramović herself, an artist who herself has dedicated (and still does) her artistic activity to performance. Thus, virtual lessons dedicated to each of the selected artists are available to everyone free of charge. At the same time, the special collaboration is intended to be a way to share with the entire public the developments in performance and the great future potential, with constant changes, that has this artistic genre, which is becoming increasingly popular.
A year-long collaboration through which the world-renowned artist leads to reflection on theimportance of performance art and the application even to everyday life.
This summer, following Abramovic’s curatorship, WePresent will present a unique digital manifestation of the “Abramović Method” on WeTransfer, available to all. In September, the artist will share her Time Capsule, an eternal body of references, ideas and objects that will continue to inspire us and future generations, giving us a glimpse into her artistic universe.
