Celebrating its eighth edition, the Cramum Prize returns after two years to Milan, at Villa Mirabello on September 2, 2021. The call for entries has been published for the prize, which unites internationally renowned artists with artists under 40: its goal is to identify artistic excellence and support younger artists.
Theme of the year, chosen by prize director Sabino Maria Frassà, is ( is) nature (is) dead? Relationship between selfishness and future; between sustainability, anthropocentrism and ecosystem. "The Cramum Prize owes a lot to Milan and we wanted to return to this city,“ Frassà declares. ”The Prize will speak in 2021 about the future and responsibility, starting from the reflection on one of the great topos of art, the “still life.” The Covid-19 pandemic has shown all the fragilities of our living, and a trans-generational responsibility pact is an issue that can no longer be postponed. Cramum is doing its part by bringing together generations of artists, journalists, intellectuals and art world professionals with whom it shares and promotes this message of responsible hope."
Out-of-competition artists are invited to participate each year to support the young artist finalists with their presence. This year Bloom&me, Ludovico Bomben, Letizia Cariello, Gianluca Capozzi, David LaChapelle (USA), Alberto Emiliano Durante, Ingar Krauss (Germany), Fulvio Morella, Elena Salmistraro, Paola Pezzi and Carla Tolomeo were invited and joined.
