Arthemisia launches Art.Live, live online guided tours of current exhibitions. It starts with Monet and the Impressionists.

Art.Live, the new way to visit exhibitions and participate in exclusive live guided tours, is born. In fact, Arthemisia launches the new format that allows people to enjoy art through their devices, while waiting for museums and exhibitions throughout Italy to reopen their doors to visitors.

These are live online guided tours that add to the presence of virtual content available on the web the active experience, trying to offer the same feeling as in a live guided tour. The live stream makes the experience real, and although hundreds of people are connected at the same time, it is like taking a private and exclusive tour, at the end of which it is possible to ask questions and delve deeper into the exhibition’s themes.

To participate, one buys a ticket at the price of 5 euros, books the visit and finally simply connects anywhere and alone or in company to experience a journey through the halls of an exhibition, accompanied by expert guides.

It will begin with two appointments ( January 24 and 31 at 6 p.m.) dedicated to Monet and the greatest Impressionists through more than fifty splendid masterpieces, narrated by art popularizer Sergio Gaddi.

Live guided tours to discover the great masterpieces of The Ladies of Art will also kick off soon. Stories of Women between the 1500s and 1600s (soon to open at the Royal Palace in Milan) and Manolo Valdés. The Forms of Time (set up at the Museo di Palazzo Cipolla in Rome).

“I am very proud of this project,” commented Iole Siena, president of the Arthemisia Group. “I looked at the many things offered by the Internet in this period, but they did not convince me, something was missing. Free and open access detracts from the value of the offer, which moreover is sometimes self-referential and boring. I wanted to experience the live visits without having any reference because no one had done it before us, and I was impressed by the follow-up we had. And the thing I like the most about this new project is that it will not end with Covid, but rather it will develop more and more by broadening the user base of the exhibitions. The live online visit is not a substitute for the ”real“ visit, but it allows everyone to see those exhibitions that they will not be able to visit for a variety of reasons. I see great potential in this project, and my goal is to have every exhibition in the world visited in this way.”

The Art.Live project was tested during the Christmas vacations with the Monet and the Impressionists exhibition in Bologna. Over three thousand tickets were sold in just a few days, including abroad, with enormous public appreciation.

Ticket purchases for Art.Live with Monet are available until 2 p.m. on each date at www.arthemisia.it or www.palazzoalbergati.com; you will receive an email from Zoom starting at 3 p.m. on the day of the event with the link and credentials to participate in the live visit. To participate in the live visit, you must download the Zoom app.
